An evening with the Barkers
On the surface, the Barkers' home and the Barkers themselves are a drop-dead gorgeous family! From 4-month-old Emma Kate to 4-year-old Reese and their two lucky parents, Brenden and Natalie, this family's beauty runs far deeper than skin's surface.
Their kindness, gentleness and absolute obvious love for their two daughters made me fall in love with this sweet family who just recently began calling Columbus, IN home.
When Natalie first reached out asking for a family porch session at their new home, I was excited to meet these new residents of my home town. The day we had scheduled our original session brought wild thunderstorms and tons of rain so we decided a porch session would be better on a very different day. And a very different day we got indeed! The weather was absolutely perfect as the sun began its decent behind their gorgeous black trim and white washed brick home. And even though Brenden had the unfortunate accident of ricocheting a rock off his mower and straight into their glass front door, I bet you couldn't even tell in their photos that the whole thing was shattered!
What I loved the most about the Barker family was their genuine curiosity towards me as well! We had never met before this day but by the end of our session I felt like we could be good friends! We talked about my other side gig as a dance teacher, I got a tour of Reese's jaw-dropping walk-in closet (which 26-year-old me was very jealous of!) as well as photography pricing and business practices!
