Auleman Family Session

I first met Lauren at my Easter mini sessions in the spring when I photographed her youngest, Jordan, who could barely sit up on her own, with baby chicks. About a month later, Lauren purchased a gift certificate from GEM Photography for her mom, Eva, for Mother's Day to get the whole family together for family portraits.

Fast forward to October, I met 20 members of the Auleman family at Mill Race Park to make good on Lauren's mother's day present. Lauren and her siblings did a wonderful job collaborating to ensure everyone was where they needed to be, on time and dressed to perfection! Lauren's sister made my photographer dreams come true by even preparing a shot list of different family groupings they wanted to be sure to capture. I swear I almost shed a tear.

Extended family sessions like this one can be a little overwhelming for all involved but the Auleman's made it feel like a breeze. Those sitting on the sidelines waiting for their next photo op helped get some genuine smiles from the younger kiddos and were quick to gather when it was their turn. And little Jordan who I'd met about 6 months previously was well on her way to walking unassisted!

I am so happy with how these photos turned out and I hope they make Eva (the grandma of the family) feel so much joy when printed out and placed around her home. Sessions like this one are so important for families because the grandchildren will have beautiful photos of their grandma to look back on for years and years to come!
